I've got Windows Home Server set up so I can manage a bunch of stuff, including RDP to my personal machine. However, I like the auto-login when I turn my machine on, and I want it to stay that way. Unfortunately WHS remote access requires a password on an account used to remotely access a computer for security reasons.

So,

1) is it possible to still auto-login with a passoword on my account?
2) Is it possible to bypass this restriction using a registry hack to circumvent the password requirement?

I've read both are possible, but exactly how I'm not sure. Option 2 would be best, if anyone knows...thanks...

TweakUI seems to bypass that....

Will it still work if I uninstall it? I try to only keep programs on my gaming rig that I absolutely need....

Not sure about Vista, but using TweakUI, you can set auto-login.

This would work but you don't need it.

OP open the run command(windows key and r) and type "control userpasswords2". You can have it autologin with a user account and have it save the password. If you do it with tweakui and uninstall it I would think it would work also.

Thanks! Exactly what I'm looking for!

No prob man. Tweakui is a nice little app that works well. Everytime someone asks your question people always recomend it when the command is so much faster. Prob not a bad app to leave on the system to play around with though.
