I bought a USB 3.0 enclosure and a EVGA USB 3.0 PCI-E adapter card. I'm getting only slightly higher speeds for USB 3.0 (about 40MB/s sustained) vs USB 2.0 (about 30MB/s sustained). The disk is a Samsung HD204UI, and gets up to 90MB sustained transfer on internal SATA. I'm using windows 7 64bit and has the driver from EVGA website installed.
How do I test which one is defective without any other USB 3.0 devices? the adapter or the enclosure? Thanks.
