Ok, from what i know my internet connection is really good for my area, coming from everyone that i show my speedtest.net results to.

My upload seems really high but when im using FTP or uploading anything anywhere it seems my upload maxes out at 80kb/s no matter where i upload it. I am behind a Router and my telephone service is through the modem. This goes for any ftp program or any torrenting program. Anyone know why?

Comcast is probably bursting your speed up ("PowerBoost") briefly during the speed test (and other transfers) but during sustained transfers they ratchet it back down.

Upload is always slower than download, and cable i think typically provides 768kbit or 384kbit upload speed. 768kbit is about 80kbyte, or the speed you see on sustained uploads.

If you upload something smaller than 5mb (according to comcast) you should see a faster upload speed. (or just any large file and the first 5mb should go faster, then it drops down).

oh my! that really sucks because it takes forever to upload anything.... lol. anyway i can boost it up?

You can't unless you either go to the higher tier or get a different ISP. I do know that Comcast (heard from Comcast tech) is trying to push a 16/2Mbps tier across the entire US.
