got my new mobo and cpu setup in, plug everything in. the hard drive is on IDE1 and the cdrom is in IDE2. i install windows xp, creating a new partition and formatting it. when it says remove anything from the a: drive and reboot in 15seconds i pull out the cd and let it boot, and it gets all the way to the device listings and stops and says DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER. im looking at the primary mast disk and it says none.... ive tried to auto detect it but it cant find it.... what am i suppose to do? its a Abit KV7-V board with a AMD Athlon XP 2900+ processor... new Antec 350w power supply and new 256MB 333Mhz Kingston ram.

I am guessing that you should leave the disc in the rom-drive even when it told you to remvoe things from the A: drive and try it again.

i have, it just takes me back to the install process.... asks me to do either a full format or a quick format... ive done both and it keeps going back to the same menu. and all this time, the bios is saying it cant find my hard drive...
