Hey all,
Soo.. bought a laptop from a friends friend. Dell 4150.
Was workin fine then one day the power cord started being very very touchy, as in, needed to bend in one direction in order to start charging. slowly over a few days got worse then all togerther stopped charging.
With the little bit of power that is in the battery it will charge fine.however... nothing will get the laptop to charge.
As far as i can tell, the port in the back is broken, so i tore into the laptop and looked into the port and soldering points.. everything looks functional and not broken at all.
Called dell, almost $500 for the motherboard replacement.
local spots, cheapest place i found to fix the port is a $200 flat rate.
however if it's just unsoldering and soldering in 3 points. that will be a no brainer. just need to find the port.
(the one on the left hand side)
thats the connector, it's not the normal one thats rounded
