Not a Good Thing

welp ..was able to add 6 p2 450's w/128megs of ram running win98 to the [H]orde ..and a p3 900'ish w/ 256megs of ram running Ubuntu ..will be adding a celeron 2.8ghz here shortly

I heard that our competition had one of their top folders down for awhile , he/she must be back in full production again .. This is good for getting a few steps closer to finding some cures ..we just need to take it up a notch or three .. :)

(when is the database going to be back online?)

Actually, I think Silicon Wars is still AWOL. Not sure what the problem is, but he's been down now for....a couple months.

My Thursday try for a borg was successful - 3.x ghz now folding (with permission) for the [H]orde. :)
I failed to get to my Friday target, but plan to do so on Monday. Perhaps 3 boxen...

Fold on.

Alright, I want to help keep [H] number 1, so I threw my dual xeon box into the fray. Anyone have any idea what kind of impact this is going to make on my electric bill? We're supposed to see 70% rate hike from constellation energy at the end of the month, I'm just trying to make sure I'm prepared for the increase. I'll throw the client on my 2.8 northwood and my 930 tomorrow at work, so that should help too.

Was the dually running 24/7 idling? or was it off most of the time? Figure $5-10 a month more if it was idling and probably about $15 if it was off.

It hasn't hit 80 degrees here in Indiana yet either :(

It's gonna get hotter and those points are going to get more expensive real soon.

I'll have to investigate the vialbility of crawlspace geothermal cooling :D

never know where you'll meet another ups'er :D

I added my 4000+ with 2gb ram tonight.. first time I've tried this out.. curious :p

We hook you with the first one....(it's free)

Then you start bumming points off friends, co-workers...or start spending all your cash to get that new high that needs more and more PPD to satisfy you the same way that the first rush did......

hmmmmm...... Welcome :)

the people with ups problems... how old are the batteries? the batteries need to be replaced every 2~4 years depending on the ups...

a lot of people dont know this and toss perfectly good ups' becuase they think they are broken... have gotten all sorts of nice APC SmartUPS' for free becuase of that :D

Hey FLECOM, the batteries in mine are fine, it was the hardware making the ups work that failed. And however the model I had of Belkin Ups, they have discontinued.

I have replaced that one ups with a apc xs 1000, but thanks for asking.

Okay, we have a situation here:

The difference is now only 5,260,646 points!

That is really bad. If the difference in production continues increasing at the rate it has been, they pas us in 42 days!!!

We must reverse the parabolic curve quickly!!!

Don't worry--Silicon_Wars' production will level out at ~50kppd. The huge dump earlier is a fluke.

Of course, that doesn't mean we should stop borging...Logikality, where are you?

not much ..but added a P3 933mhz (my work smoothwall box) and an A64 x2 +4400 to the [H]orde ..

That should keep the roos at bay for ...umm .. a good 10 seconds or so
:p
