Northwood or Prescott

I am considering ugrading my P4 2.66 @ 3.2 to either a northwood or prescott of about 3.0 GHz. I was planning on OCing...what should i pick?

Northwood overclocks well on stock cooling, whereas Prescott runs hotter and requires better cooling. I would guess, though, that with extreme cooling, the Prescott would go higher than the Northwood. Both processors perform more or less equally, and the trend continues as frequency increases towards 4 GHz and beyond. I would definitely suggest Northwood over Prescott, unless you have very ambitious cooling plans.

definately get the Northwood over the Prescott.

the Prescotts run waaaay too hot if you plan on doing any sort of O/Cing (which most of us almost always do... )
