i have a Asus, AN8-SLI Delux and the northbridge fan went out.. well it works some times but stops randomly and usualy just dosn't spin at all.. Now this makes me worried to even play games, and impossible to keep my computer at the clock speed it onces hit. I can tell a diffrence and I am also getting some werid memory artifacts that didn't show till this happen..

question is what would be recomended for a replacement, specificaly for this board.

I have a Zalman passive heatsink on my Asus A8N-SLI deluxe and I've never had any problems. I did put a 40mm fan on it for a while, but it really isn't necessary. But the model I used was the nb47 I think... but it's the little blue Zalman heatsink. it works well.

on my DFI expert I use an evercool vc-re and that works well and is quieter than the stock dfi fan (so it'll be a lot quieter than the stock asus fan) and it cools better too. You could probably use one of these. I got mine from jab-tech. they're usually less than $10
