Hi ,

Im running a AMD 64 x2 4400+ with a Zalman FS-C77 Fatal1ty CPU Cooler and a BFG 7800GT oc with a stock fan .

Running all games on max settings without any problem , the only thing i can see ( or hear ) is my Zalman CPU fan is allways on high and i never hear my graphics card fan get any louder in games is this a problem ?

Temps are.. CPU 44 c idle and 47 c at load
GPU 54 c idle and 58 c at load

Is that normal ?

I have used speedfan to turn down my CPU fan to about 60 % and the temps stay the same as above .

I allso turned down and up the other 2 fans listedin speedfans and nothing changed ...is this normal ?

Here is a screen shot , I would appriciate any comments and advice .

Thanks

Hello ... is this thing on ?

Earth to [H] forum.. come in [H] forum ..do you copy ? :D

Your Gpu temp is fine and your cpu temp is acceptable. Your best temp is temp3 in your screen shot -128c, not to bad :) Yes your fans are perfectly normal.

Hey firebat ,

Thanks for your input man , ;)

Do i have any way of making them better in the bios ? , I enabled cool and quiet but it has not changed anything , My CPU fan still runs at max and my GPU fan never changes ...Is this right ?

Thanks again

dont run cool n quiet....

yeh ur cpu temps are fine as long as theyre under 55...i prefer to keep them under 50 but makes no difference and ur gpu temps are fine too...they have a much higher threshhold than cpu's

Hows the inside of your case look? You might be able to cool down your components (not that you need it mind you) by adding a couple of fans/cleaning your cables up. Personally, those temps are acceptable for aircooling, 47c isn't anything to worry about, but I can understand that nagging voice in the back of your head, striving for the lowest you can get. Are you overclocking at all? Last thing you might wanna check is how well the thermal interface between the CPU and HSF is holding up, you may need to reapply some thermal paste.

Also, Go ahead and disable cool n quiet, IMO it's useless, and it only works for me if I install some software to go with it. Maybe that's why it's not doing anything for you?

Hey guy's ,

Thanks for the fast reply's..Its appriciated

Mayhs... dont run cool n quiet....

Ok i have turned it off now so all good with that ;)

gpu temps are fine too...they have a much higher threshhold than cpu's

Cool , im happy with that , It's winter here and cold outside so we have the heating on full blast , I just realised that that will allso be having an effect on the temps as the air being drawn in might be warm .

Case could do with some slim cables and i plan to get some this week , That will tidy things up and maybe gain some better air flow , I allso plan on adding another air intake fan on the front of my case so that will allso help .

Im not overclocking , Its all set at stock ... but i would like too :D

About the thermal paste ..... I used AS5 on the CPU but i only put a thin layer on , would it be wise to maybe put a thiker layer on ? ...Can i just remove the HSF and put more on or do i have to remove old paste first ?

If so how do i remove old paste ?

As for the nagging voice in the back of my head ... i hear that all the time ...its called a wife :D

Thanks again guy's
