Normal processor temperature question?

Wondering what the normal temperature range for my processor should be?
C2D E6600...

Using stock Intel heatsink/fan, no OC.

Intel desktop utility reports this at idle, no load
Processor Zone temp:42C steady
System Zone 1:45C
System Zone 2:47C
Processor Fan Speed:1234-1255rp (avg)

I have 3 other case fans. I'm not having any problems
just wondering what the Intel "spec" should be for my processor.
Googled for it and cannot find normal range in Intel docs.

I'd like to set some alerts in the utility, but don't know the
proper thresholds.

Intel system in sig AKA Bad Axe 2 MB.
 
My BA2 has Thermal Zones in the 30*Cs. CoreTemp has me idling just above 40*C, loading around 60*C.
