Normal DDR ram into Dual Channel (wrong?)

i was wondering if i screwed up

i put normal ddr ram into dual channel motherboard

my comp is working and everything but is this the wrong thing to do
 
dual channel is a spec of the motherboard, not ram. don't worry about it
 
Yeah, there is no such thing as "dual channel memory". Companies often sell dual channel kits of RAM which is just 2 matched modules, but there's nothing special about them that makes them "dual channel". You could just buy 2 individual modules if you wanted to and run them in dual channel.
