So, i want to take a step into the next stage of PC audio. For years i been using those 5.1 setups made directly for computers off newegg.

What i need to know is: What do i need to run a setup like you guys? I want a 2.1 setup only.. no headphones

So far i gathered:
A receiver

1 Sub
These cords

2 sat. speakers?
A new sound card

What else am i missing?
Also, i want a CHEAP setup. Im aware cheap is not the term to use, but i dont want the best. I normally use my pc for browsing the net and LIGHT gaming.

Thanks

Don't need a soundcard if you're getting a receiver. Can't tell what that receiver is that you posted.

Don't buy Monster Cables. They are terribly overpriced. Go to Monoprice.com (standard but sturdy and decent) or if you want higher quality cables, Blue Jean Cables are good.

Sat. speakers? Why sat. speakers?

Also, you're trying to say you have a budget without giving a budget. Isn't that kind of.... dumb?

Well my budget currently is $200-250ish since i found this. If i can buy this and buy a sub later i should be fine.

Ok, if i dont need a sound card than how am i getting the sound from the computer to the speakers? IE: How will i hook up the receiver to the pc?

Ehhh... just stick to powered speakers at $200. $300 might be doable, but $200 is a bit low for passive speakers.

Audioengine, Swan, and M-Audio has solid budget speakers.

A2, A5, D1080, M200, AV40.
