I just wanted to take a moment to thank those of you who spend a great amount of time sharing your knowledge on the importance of a quality psu. Though I haven't posted much, just reading a good amount of the posts was enough to enlighten me on the importance of this one component.
About 4 months ago I decided to build a new computer and decided on the Aspire x-dreamer II case because of its awesome looks and was happy that it included a 350wt psu. Well, after building my computer and everything seeming to run fine, I decided to research the psu that came with this case (a Turbolink LC-A350ATX a.k.a. Deer.)
After googling this psu I discovered that not many had anything positive to say about this manufacturer. Now I'm getting panicky!! I don't want my investment going up in smoke!! so I read alot of the posts in this forum including the stickies (a big help!!) and decided to get this psu out of my system.
I decided on a Super-Flower TT-520ss from Directron. This seemed like a good deal at $32.99 and TTGI seemed to be regarded as a decent middle of the road psu.
Well I recieved the psu and decided that I would install it yesterday. I removed the old psu and was floored as to how light this "psu" actually was compared to the new one that I just got!!! They shouldn't be allowed to sell such crap!!
I'm sure that the old psu would have died in a short amount of time (maybe taking some of the components that I paid good money for with it) So if your on the fence about replacing a generic psu learn from the folks here that have spent a good amount of time researching this component and buy a quality unit! You won't be sorry!!
Now off to the memory forum...........
