I just wanted to take a moment to thank those of you who spend a great amount of time sharing your knowledge on the importance of a quality psu. Though I haven't posted much, just reading a good amount of the posts was enough to enlighten me on the importance of this one component.

About 4 months ago I decided to build a new computer and decided on the Aspire x-dreamer II case because of its awesome looks and was happy that it included a 350wt psu. Well, after building my computer and everything seeming to run fine, I decided to research the psu that came with this case (a Turbolink LC-A350ATX a.k.a. Deer.)

After googling this psu I discovered that not many had anything positive to say about this manufacturer. Now I'm getting panicky!! I don't want my investment going up in smoke!! so I read alot of the posts in this forum including the stickies (a big help!!) and decided to get this psu out of my system.

I decided on a Super-Flower TT-520ss from Directron. This seemed like a good deal at $32.99 and TTGI seemed to be regarded as a decent middle of the road psu.

Well I recieved the psu and decided that I would install it yesterday. I removed the old psu and was floored as to how light this "psu" actually was compared to the new one that I just got!!! They shouldn't be allowed to sell such crap!!

I'm sure that the old psu would have died in a short amount of time (maybe taking some of the components that I paid good money for with it) So if your on the fence about replacing a generic psu learn from the folks here that have spent a good amount of time researching this component and buy a quality unit! You won't be sorry!!

Now off to the memory forum...........

You should be happy, Super Flower makes good PSs. I just recently went with the 550ss because I need a PS that I could adjust the +12v. EQ2 for some reason puts a hell of a load on the +12v, making my previous PS dip down as low as 11.2v while in the game. The 550ss dipped down to 11.4v when I got it installed and played EQ2, so I opened it up and tweaked the trimpot up to 12.5v at idle. Now, while playing the game, it doesn't get any lower than 11.8v. Your 520ss also has the same trimpot if you should ever need it.

Yes well I am pretty stupid right now since i am going through the same pain over this PSU again since another hot deal came up with it. When shit steams it is hot......doesn't mean I would recommend buying it though.
