Yes, I am a complete noob when it comes to power supplys. I have never actually purchased a power supply until today. I have always used the POS that comes with the cases I get. Recently i purchased an extremely cheap case that came with a PowMax 400W in it... I believe it is responsible for the sudden death of my Abit IC7-G. So today I picked up an Antec TruPower 430W power supply. Before swapping power supplys (using my old pebt2 mobo) I installed MBM 5... my voltages were at (1.45,1.47,3.27,5.12,12.1) now they sit at (1.45,1.47,3.25,4.99,11.85 screenshot below). I know nothing about what this really means and searched for something explaining it with no success. So my question to you guys is ... isn't the lower voltage a bad thing? should I worry about this? Or am I just an idiot? whatever the reason please shed some light on me about voltages and whatnot...

Lower voltage isn't always a bad thing. I think it should be within 5-6% of what it's rated at (so a 5 volt rail should be 4.75 or better, 12 volt should be 11.6 or better) but those are minimums. I personally don't think Antec makes a good PSU but some folts swear by them. As long as your system is stable you are probably just fine.

its the rail stability that counts
and I'll counter that I think Antec exceeds the pack in that criteria
other have complained of "low" rails on Antec when they are within thier output draw spectrum
(any power supply that is attempting to power too many components will show low rails as a sign,
but being within the spectrum means your not overtaxing the amps per rail with the compionents your trying to power)

but as mentioned they are "within spec" while some might like to see those numbers higher
(and in an extreme case of overclocking there maybe a benefit)
the stability is a far more importnat criteria, each of the rails is individually regulated and
to tighter values than the spec calls for in the TruePower line, which is why I recommend them

if the use is extreme, and the stability is also extreme
(read overclocking at the bleeding edge or running enough drives to cause a local brownout)
then its time to pony up the $$$ for the next level a PC Power & Cooling Turbo Cool
