Need the right help to make my computer faster (overclocking), I have read about overclocking and what the risks I will be taking. First off I want to do slight overclocking with my CPU/Video Card, as I am just running stock cooling devices. I kinda just need what to plug what where. I alread played with video card manual overclocking settings. I have "Performance (3D)" Core Clock Frequency at 540 MHz and the memory at 961, I tryed using the "Detect Optimal Frequencies" but as i play BF2 the game is flashing. As I am not sure what the "Standard (2D" option is under Manual Overclocking. that is set at 309/961. Hope This helps, Thanks

set the RAM divider to 166 (4:4)
set the AGP:pCI to 66:33
and up the FSB you 2-3 mhz at a time and find out what you CPU is capable of.
if you have a good OC'ing CpU you might need to set a biger divider on the RAM to keep it stable 133 (2:3) or loosen the timings, this can be done in the BIOS or with a program named A64Tweaker.

you will need to watch your temps and keep them <55C

you can use a program named clockgen to OC from windows and use Prime95 or OCCT to test the stability of your OC.

and the game is flashing because your OC on your GFX card is not stable, lower it a littlel

Well thanks for the information i guess i left out what kinda ram i have, i am using Kingston Hyper X DDR PC3200 i have (256X2) (512X2) like so gig an a half.

Ok when looking for that "clockgen" I couldn't find my motherboard. My board is K8N Neo2 Series as stated above its also says in my manual if it helps any MS-7025 (v1.X)ATX MainBoard, then at the bottom it says G52-M7025X1. Sorry dealing with a noob here.

only put a gig of that ram in... you could probobly get mor speed that way.

you need to download the NForce3 clockgen - all motherboards with this chipset use the same clockgenerator.

except speed doenst mean shit on the K8 platform, and games will benefit from the extra half gig.

I downloaded the right program but being a noob i dont understand how to save my settings.
