i just baught my new computer with the intent to over clock it altho i have never over clocked a machine before..

can someone point me to a guide?
is there some applications that will allow me to over clock on the fly? instead of restarting all the time and editing the bios?


here are the parts i bought

CASE ANTEC NINE HUNDRED GAMERS CASE
CPU INTEL CORE 2 DUO E6600
CPU FAN ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT RTL
CPU THERMPASTE ARCTIC SILVER5
MB ASUS P5N-E SLI NF650I SLI 775

i want to over clock to what i can with out killing the cpus life to much

you should be able to just crank the fsb freq to say 333 and test in windows if all is good try 400. i have found 400mhz fsb (it will make your ram run at 800ddr) should be good. just make sure when you oc that your ram speed is close to spec as possible, that is 800ddr (400mhz) and you should be good. you should not need to increase the cpu volts, tho you will need to set your ram to 2.0 or 2.1 to get stable, i would use 2.1volts total on the ram, check the oc section for hows tos
