Noob SLI/PSU compatability question

It actually does say SLI certified ;) And no, it really doesn't matter. If it works for one, it will work for both. And that's a great PSU!

I assure you the box does not say SLI anywhere on it.

Says crossfire certified. If you say they're one in the same then, thats all I wanted to make sure of. As long as I can run SLI on it then I'm happy.

nVidia will not give SLI certification to PSU models that are Crossfire-certified as well. However, that PSU will be powerful enough for any dual-card SLI setup and the majority of tri-SLI and quad-SLI configurations as well. Nothing to worry about.

music to my ears! Just hope its not DOA...

Is there a way to test it without any other componants? I won't get my mobo and gear for another couple weeks prolly.

haha. Sorry I laugh but it just funny to see someone like me a few years ago. PSUs are suppose to be universal. The higher power they have the more pin they have to support higher power demand graphic card, but theoretically they should work for any kind of set up :)

You can see if it's functional by using a paper clip or wire to connect the green wire to one of the black ground wires on the 24-pin ATX connector, although you may need to load it with something to get it to start up. That'll just tell you if it's DOA though; you won't get any indications as to whether or not it's functioning properly. For that, you'll need to set it up with a system.

I wouldn't worry about DOA. Just wait until you've got your stuff. PCP&C makes good stuff :)
