noob quesiton about Sata cables

how many will i need to hook up a motherboard, dvd burner and harddrive, the motehrbarod came with 2, do i need to buy some extra ones?

If your DVD drive is sata, and the HDD is sata, you have enough cable. Your motherboad came with the correct amount. You may have to get the drivers for the SATA controller to install windows, though.

the hardrive is sata, but the dvd burner is IDE

If only your hard drive is sata, then you only need one sata cable to connect the motherboard to the hard drive.

For the burner, all you need is the IDE cable, and power of course.

yeah, every mobo i have ever bought comes with an IDE cable or two. the burner might have also come with one if it wasnt OEM.
