Long time lurker, first time poster!

Anyhow, I've got this Pentium D805 on a Asus P5LD2-MQ (similar to -VM) and I can't overclock it very much... FSB set to 152 i get the cpu to 3.02GHz. However if I try and go past 152 the system wont boot. I searched around the forums and found that if I change the PCIe-clock to 118MHz I would be able to go higher. This didn't work. I have a feeling it's the memory limiting my overclocking cause its cheap "budget/value" RAM from PNY (2x1GB DDR2 533MHz).

Any suggestions on how to improve my overclock, except for buying new memory?

Perhaps your ram is stopping you, have you tried a lower fsb:dram ratio?

I tried to set the memory timings manually (always used the "Auto"-setting before) and now I'm at 3.39GHz. Gonna try an even higher setting later today.

Does your board have diagnostic LEDs or are you getting POST beep codes? Those will help you troubleshoot.

If you're getting long, continous beeps then yes, your memory is being maxed past its limits.
