I just installed my wc loop and my 2 rad fans plugged into the mobo. I plugged the fans into the motherboard and one is running fast and one slow. How do i get them both at the same speed? Also, should I just plug them into the psu? If i do that, how then do i control them? One fan is basically at full speed and the other one at 1000 rpm.

I have 2 adapters reading "12v -7v" which plugs into the mobo and 2 other adapters tat plug into the psu.

Any help?

Thanks.

EDIT: I guess if i just put one where the psu fan connects to the mobo and another one in the cpu fan place on the mobo, i can control both fans through smartguardian... would that be fine?

Can someone explain what plugging them straight into the mobo would do?

EDIT 2: Wait a minute, it says the PWMIC is at 65c?? I just looked and the psu fan is off. Before i installed my kit it ran by itself when it wasnt plugged in. Now it wont. Oh well, I guess I can use one of the adapters i have that came with the kit to plug the psu fan into the psu lol. Even when i do that its still is at 52c.

man how did you ever get into watercooling and a DFI board....

you question tells me that you really are in over you head.... you need to slow down and read before you jump into things....

I would not run a 120mm off my mobo header the amps could fry it.... might not but I would not risk it...

plug them in to the PSU with a 4 pin molex and if you want them to be quite than do the 7volt mod... it is really easy and works well..

or get a fan controller....

check out xoxide.com frozencpu.com performance-pcs.com jab-tech.com and there are many others

lol i know what im doing... I just didnt get a chance to read up on the fans lol. I thought it would be straight forward so i didnt bother looking into it.

What do you mean wc and a dfi board? I obviously couldnt do the chipset if thats what youre referring to... I just did the cpu and gpu and installed the evercool onto the chipset.

When i plug the 2 rad fans into the molex connectors, they run too slow and I dont know how to control them... (faster)

when you plug them into your PSUs molexes make sure the wire colors are in the correct order... look at the PSU wires and make sure they match...

if yellow goes to yellow, blacks to blacks, and red to red than that is their top speed...

you might be pluging them into a 7v line... I think that is yellow to yellow, fan black to PSU red.

let me know

okay so make it 12v if you want it to be faster... but 7v for a high flow 120mm fan is usually nice

ok.

But why is my pwmic temp so hot? Im using smartguardian. Im pretty sure its reading from the psu...not sure though.

For my watercooling, I just modded 2 molex plugs to 7v and plugged the fans in.

When you run the fans off of the motherboard, the hardware will change the speed of the fan in accordance to your CPU or other component temperatures...

Get a 10$ Sunbeamtech baybus, plug a molex into it, along with your 2 Rad fans and 2 other fans/lights/small pumps...

120mm fans will draw anywhere from 2w to 10w of power. Calculate your power needs by multiplying the ampere rating by the voltage rating... If this is over 3.5w I'd recommend running the fan off of a molex.

I find it wierd that Processors can pull 40a of power at 1.4v yet a 5w fan can fry your motherboard...

And Adidas, it's quite easy to overlook something like this, especially if you're new to watercooling.

yeah I guess seems that fans are used for WC and air cooling so I figured most would understand how to wire fans.... but I was wong. Sorry

but I am glad you got everything figured out.
