Hey, I have a Canon A60 camera and Canon CBK-100 battery charger kit. The Canon batteries were 1.2V, 1600mAh . I do not have the canon battery anymore and my stupid question is if its ok to use other brand batteries and batteries that have a higher mAh. Is the canon charger going to charge them all the way up or will I have any other problems. Thanks.

heres the charger kit i have...

Should be fine, the higher mah batteries will just take longer to charge, and 1.2 volts is normal for rechargable batteries.

i use 2000 nimh rayovac 15 min recharbles, and even in a slow batt charger it still works fine just takes longer

Yep most rechargers only stop charging when the get feedback saying the battery is full.

Thanks for the replies. Does a higher mah just allow longer use?

The higher the mah is, the longer the battery will last. Be careful to make sure voltage is the same however. Which ever the device is (camera, r/c car, cordless phone) the voltage has to be the same as what the device was built for.
