basically i bought a whole case full of parts for 60 bucks. the computer included a 2x120mm rad, mcp655 pump. a small res and blocks on the 775 and 8800 ultra (yes i got this all for 60 bucks)

ive never done a custom loop before. this computer obviously sat for some time. i want to know if i have to clean the waterblocks out and if theres corrosion that will create heat spreading problems. im noob and dont want to fuck this up. also what order should a watercooling loop ideally run in?

Thats' a pretty decent score.

I'm by no means any expert but I've done my own loop so I'll give you my insights. If it was sitting for a long time, open up the blocks and clean them up with a toothbrush and vinegar. Flush with distilled water on all the parts. Try to flush the radiator as much as you can.

Get some new tubing and set up the loop outside your computer for leak testing. Use distilled water.

The order doesn't matter as much but the res should be before the pump. The res should be higher than the pump as far as elevation goes.

After you leak tested and such, then install in into your computer and leak test one more time. I know it's a bit more work but would you rather have some more work or blown equipment?
