So I decided to take the plunge into my first RAID (5) setup. I just picked up a 6 port Intel RAID card and (4) 400gb drives via WD's Loyalty Program to complement the 2 I already have. Once formatted, this should put me right at the 2tb NTFS limitation.

So here I am with 750gb of data on my 2 existing drives. Is it possible to build the new array without losing my existing data or should I start trying to figure out a way to move it to other drives?
 
Well, first, let me mention that you should have backups before you do anything. It may be possible to do that, but it could destroy all your data.

What card is it, specifically? If it has online capacity expansion, you could build a 4-disk array, copy all the data over, and expand onto the two other disks. But if there's no OCE, it's time to go buy some quality DVD-Rs or find a good friend with a lot of disk space ;)

Eh, it's mostly DVD rips which are backups in themselves. It just ain't worth the bucks to me. Worst case scenario is that I lose my time invested.

It's an Intel SRCS16. It has "Online RAID-level migration and capacity expansion, without the need for reboot," which sounds like what you're talking about, eh?
