What companies make LCD 23" monitors that are NON TN panel ones? I'm sick of this! First I bought a LG, then a HP, what ones don't have the TN crap on them!

Why 23"? Why not 22 or 24"?

Anyway, Apple makes or at least used to make a 23" IPS screen.

My General Rules:

1. All 23.5" LCD monitors are TN panel.
2. All 22" LCD monitors are TN panel, exception:
__ a. Dell 2209WA = e-IPS
__ b. Lenovo L220x = S-PVA (1920 x 1200 resolution)
__ c. Upcoming 22" LG monitor - don't know model # yet and it should also be e-IPS.
3. All 24" LCD priced less than about $575 (in the US, excluding sales and rebates) are TN panels.

Pretty much all currently produced 23" monitors use TN panels. If you want something that is 23" and has an IPS panel, then you have to go back a few years. The HP L2335 and Sony P234 come to mind.

Also some 22" Eizos are S-PVA.
For something better go for 24" - NEC 2490. Or a wide gamut model for gfx work.

I agree w/ what the others said. Why 23" wahen you can go for a 24" display?
Abother interesting addition will be the new LF W2430P which will have an H-IPS panel. It should be released in june or july - Europe only.

Well I guess 24" is fine then - what's a good brand to get?
Brands don't really say much. You'll want to be looking at individual models. Features (mainly ports) and budget are really the main things you need to mention first though.

Well I guess I need HDMI and VGA ports. Also easy to see buttons on the front so I can actually see them in the dim light at night in my room. That's about it really. Right now it's a toss-up between the Dell 2408WFP and the HP LP 2475 unless there's something better out there for under $600.
