Hi all,
My Maxtor 6 LO40J2 40 gigb 7200, has started to make like a continous tingle noise, quite disturbing.
It works fine, but too noisy.

Is this normal?

I plan to replace it, I've got an NF7 2.0 so I would go for a SATA hard disk.
Right know, which is/are the fastest (and not noisy) SATA drives to buy?

Thanks

how good are those drives? I think Im going to buy... Ive never heard anything really bad or good about Seagate.

Did you try enabling smart drive?
I think maxtor has a utility to check the drives health.

This last one is from HITACHI.
I'll rather use this one since Powermax will not work on Nvidia based chipsets (as Maxtor states in the utility page).

Thanx
