I can find a lot info about the Noctua NH-D15(S) in combination with the 8700k, but none with the Noctua NH-U14S. Do you guys think that my Noctua NH-U14S will be sufficiënt if I want to overclock the 8700k say to a modest 4.8ghz?

Is the Noctua NH-U14S compatible with socket 1151?

Yes it’s compatible. Your happiness with it will depend on how high you want to allow your temps to get.

If you use avx offset they should be fine. I'm assuming your using it on your 6700k whats your temps like on that? it will likely be 5-10c hotter

Yup, I’m currently using it with my 6700k.

Right now it’s running at 4.6ghz 1.34v temps are 29-31 idle & 72 when fully loaded.

The U14S is in our charts for comparison, it's the highest performance air cooler I've tested to date, https://www.hardocp.com/article/2017/11/10/reeven_naia_240_allinone_liquid_cpu_cooler_review/3
