No video after driver install

I recently put together my upgrade of an asus ncch-dl and dual LV 1.6ghz xeons. I was installing my nvidia drivers for my gf4 ti4200 vid card and rebooted like i should. Now after the bios sequence, i get no video whatsoever. So I tried safemode, and safemode sticks at

\Apppatch\drvmain.sdb

I googled this and there seemed to be a lot of problems on this, especially on server boards. But I'm not sure what to do, i'd like to keep from trying to install winxp pro again, that would be some crap. But any ideas would help.
