No Sound?!

My next door neighbor just built my computer for me but i ordered allt he parts. I have a Chaintech VNF4 Ultra motherboard and i have Logitech Headphones. I load up games, etc.. and no sound. I go into voice recordin, no voice. My audio Sound Playback is set to Realtech AC97 Audio device??? same with my recording. I tried a set of desktop speakers single line and it still didn't give me anything? Anybody know whats going on?
