I ve updated my system to,

Asus P4C800-E MB
P4 3.2
Hercules 9600 Pro G Card
Geil 1 GB PC3200 DDR

After doing this I find I have no sound so I installed a new Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Digital sound card, but I still dond have any sound.
When I go into the sound from control Panel the sound slider is at min but it wont let me move it(Its greyed out)
Can someone please help me.
Thanks.

BTW my OS is Windows Me

did you install the drivers? if so check the system hareware manager and see if it's conflicting wiht anything else.

Is the p4c800 part of the ai series?

cause this p4p800 i have was pain to get the sound working at first even after installing drivers.

I used an rca to headphone jack adapter to get my hometheater to my computer, and for some reason it sees that headphone jack as a headphone anr, while on my last system it would just start right up like nothing was wrong. So if you have a similar setup try that

or try all the different options

Yikes....WinME on that system???? That's like buying a Ferrari and trying to have it run on spring water.

thanks for the help.I checked my device and there was a problem there.I seems to be fixed now and I do have sound in windows but still none in any games. Can anyone suggest what else I can do.

Word

You might not have sound on games because since they are not used to having a sound device, you might have to manually go in and select it.
