So i'm having some trouble with audio especially when it comes to sending it

so here's a boring story:

i've had some trouble with not getting any audio and now i can't send audio as well
it seems my devices are not quite correct when i need them
atm i'm streaming audio output through my screen (hdmi)

to further show, i'll elaborate:

so as you can see, i have no device as input and plugging a headset into the analog ports does not show anything at all, ever

now i'm wondering and call me a noob on this but if i use a usb headset, instead of an analog port headset, will it work?
or am i gonna have to switch mobo?
