I have tried just about everything to get the game's sound to work. I downloaded drivers, uninstalled/reinstalled twice, reinstalled origin.
I had sound when I first DL the game last week but haven't had sound since. The live chat suggested I come here for an answer.
Any help is really appreciated

I have a Creative X-Fi Titanium. Even though sound in everything else is fine, BF3 has VERY quiet sound. I have to turn my speakers way up to hear anything. This is with the game's audio settings and the Windows mixer maxed out. Not sure what's going on. I'm just about to check for newer drivers. What sound card do you have?

do you have sound in other things, could it be a loose speaker cord connection? After years in the tech support business youd be surprised how many -problems have been solved by replugging in wires. Lol once had a ticket with the head engineer his computer wouldnt display anything, I walked up to his monitor and turned it on, this was the head engineer in charge of designing multi million dollar satilites at Loral Space and Communications.

I found a solution yesterday and it resolved my BF3 sound issue.

Launch BF3, Alt-Tab, and go to your volume mixer and increase the sound level for BF3. You need to launch BF3 in order for it to populate in the control.

I have a Realtek card that's intigrated in my mobo. The sound in BC2 is fantastic and youtube videos + music is just fine. I have turned everything up from the setting on the sound card, the volume on the desktop and the in game sound. The best I can get is very faint sound.

IronChef, it sounds like you have the exact problem as I do. I have downloaded the new drivers too

Under "Properties" -> "Compatability" check the "Always run as administrator" for both Origin.exe and bf3.exe.

See if that works.

Also building off this... see if your volume mixer even shows an altering level of audio coming from the application itself.

It's usually represented as a green bar but you can use another source for verifcation on this.
