Ok, so recently I took out my mobo and all that stuff out of my pc to clean off and to inspect and all, and once I put it all back together, all was hooked up nothing changed at all, and BAM, no sound what so ever, And i mean NONE. Soooooo we go into bios, nada still the same. Re-download drivers and install, still nothing. BTW im running just the on-board sound that came with my ASUS-A7N8X mobo.

this is going to sound dumb but......are you sure that your speakers are pluged into the right port....its real easy to mix them up..:)

Check the front panel audio connection block on the mobo to see if the jumpers got disturbed or fell off?

If you don't use the front panel audio connections, there are usually 2 jumpers that have to be in place for the rear connections to work. If the jumpers aren't in place you won't get any audio out of the rear jacks.

ok,well I just checked and the little wires for the front audio and all that are plugged it as well, and yes i have the thing in the right hold for my speaker. Its really starting to get annoying.

Is the onboard audio device showing up in Device Manager under 'Sounds and Game devices'?
