I recently picked up two dvi-->hdmi cables for use with two of my computers. One of the setups is my htpc (with a gf4 ti4200 running win2k) running to a westinghouse 32" hdtv. It works beautifully going to the hdmi port.
The other setup, however, does not. It's a 9600gso running win7 rtm, connected to a 19" hannspree lcd. It has an hdmi input but no dvi, so that's why I'm using the dvi--->hdmi cable. No matter what I do, I can't get any signal over hdmi. Nothing at post, nothing in windows. Windows will do the little "you connected or disconnected some hardware!" noise if I unplug or plug in the hdmi cable, but that's it.
Is this a common problem? DVI and HDMI are signal-compatible so I don't understand what the problem is. Plus, it works fine on my hdtv. Any ideas?
