No QDEL updates at CES?

I was hoping there'd be an update to how QDEL is coming along at CES, but there doesn't seem to be any news.

Meet QDEL, the backlight-less display tech that could replace OLED in premium TVs
QDEL stakeholders claim that the tech could bring efficiencies like lower power consumption and higher brightness than OLED. (Research using a prototype device has recorded quantum dot light-emitting diodes reaching 614,000 nits. Of course, those aren't the type of results you should expect to see in a real-life consumer product.)

Because of these expected benefits, some display enthusiasts predict that QDEL will one day replace OLED and other premium display panel technologies for high-end consumer devices.

There's also hope that QDEL could eventually last longer than OLED, especially since QDEL doesn't rely on organic materials that can cause burn-in. Currently, though, researchers are still working on ensuring that blue and green quantum dot materials can last long enough to make a viable consumer gadget without using cadmium. As it stands, QDEL displays would become noticeably dimmer more quickly than today's OLED displays.

But optimists believe QDEL display lifetimes could one day be on par with LCD-LEDs and outlast OLEDs. Nanosys believes blue quantum dot materials can be developed to last longer than blue OLEDs due to challenges in achieving high efficiency and a long lifetime with blue OLED "at the correct wavelength or color," Yurek explained.

The Ars article says "Nanosys is targeting 2026 for commercial availability". And also, "Yurek said that it should eventually be possible to manufacture QDEL cheaper than Micro LED, as well as OLEDs and LCD-LEDs".
 
That article says it's still a few years away from being available in normal products: "Also known as QDEL (and ELQD and QD-LED), we're still a few years away from seeing this technology in real products, but it's interesting to see how quickly things are moving."
I might've skipped OLED completely and waited to get a QDEL monitor if QDEL was going to be in mainstream gaming monitors in a year or so. Maybe my next monitor will be OLED, then.
 
Get QD-OLED - it is already like QDEL where it comes to colors. The only improvement QDEL is promising to bring is longevity (less burn-in - note I did not use word "no") and potentially higher luminance (and at lower power consumption).

As for QDEL it seems like it might be a thing in next few years.
It will compete with vastly improved OLED emitters and I don't think it will wipe the floor with them at all. Certainly nothing to hold your breath for.
Besides current panels are apparently good enough you might get by single panel iteration before QDEL comes out without any/much burn-issues.
For normal/typical Rec.709 QDEL won't bring any improvement over QD-OLED anyways.
WOLED I might recommend if they fix near-black overshoot.
