Hey. Just dropped a 2200+ into my board. It's

if that matters. Connected everything, hit power. Nothing. Not even a fan spin or anything like that. Switch off the power supply. Hear a "chirp". That's the PSU turning off, right? Tried different outlets. Gonna try a different power cord now.

Is it because my board doesn't support the processor? Or what...
 
Board specs? Did you re-seat everything properly? Can you power up the PSU outside of the case to see if it powers up? (Wire in green & a black pin will do it.) Check to see if anything is shorted?
 
I'm afraid of doing that powering up thing. Will try it though..

It's actually an MSI 745 Ultra. Sis745 Chipset...
 
Alright. Shorted the pins. The PSU started up. Remounted the PSU. Hit the pwah button. WORK! Thank you!!!

Now somebody tell me what happened? lol.
 
something was probably shorting out the board

what heatsink do you have on it and did you have to take the board out to put the cpu in?
 
Volcano 9 is the heatsink. Yes, I had to take the board out.
