hey guys, would like to get some help on my build I've been working on since (october 2009)

Okay so first off here are all the parts I have used:

mobo: -Gigabyte m68-s2
-Biostar MCP6P M2+

gpu: Palit HD 3850 Super 512mb DDR2

cpu:- AMD Sempron 140 2.7ghz AM3
-AMD Athlon x2 7750 2.7ghz AM2+

psu: Coolmax V600 600w

case: Antec 300

memory: Kingston valueRAM 1gb DDR2 800mhz
corsair xms ddr2 512mb 675mhz

Okay so, I have been getting "NO POST" since the day I've put my parts together. I've reseted the CMOS (taking it out and putting it back in)... Tried switching cpus, and motherboards, even the ram. (also used corsair xms2 ddr2 675mhz) Tried switching monitors as well as the pci-e video card to onboard video. I really do not know what is the problem with my build. I can't get into BIOS since I just get a black screen. Also, the motherboard speaker cable isn't connected (since I don't have one). Any tips and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

HIt up the stickied "Basic Troubleshooting Guide" on waht to do when your system does not POST.

Another note: You really really really should replace the PSU ASAP. Not 100% sure it's the cause of your POST issues but I can definitely see that PSU causing trouble later on. Something like the $55 Corsair 400CX 400W PSU would be a good choice. Yes it's of lower wattage but it's of good quality and has a significantly higher chance of not killing your system (1% chance versus 90% chance for the Coolmax). In addition, that Corsair is guaranteed to deliver 400W of power whereas that Coolmax will more than likely only be capable of 200W of power.

Thanks Danny, I actually used to use the same PSU back in fall of 2008. It ran my pc fine back then, and used it for several months before I had to part out the rig since I was moving. I believe my old build ran at about 230-260watts. As for now, I don't mind using the v600 until I am fortunate to land a job to upgrade to a corsair PSU. But then again I have a feeling my problem might be the PSU. A couple of my friends also stated that it could be the PSU causing my no post problem, but I am hesitant since funds are hard to come by.

I'll be following the "NO POST" guide thanks, for mentioning it. (Initially I missed the guide because I only read the first 2 posts in that sticky thread) Sorry to have been ignorant to have missed it. Anyway, I'll post back here with the results.
