HELP! I have tried so much stuff... This is a newly built computer my friend and I just built and it has the same specs as my system except he has an Aspire X-Dreamer 2 case and a Sapphire Radeon 9600XT... When we turn the comp on there is no picture and we have tried multiple monitors and multiple graphics cards.... This happened to me before on a computer that had been used already and I had to RMA the cpu and mobo... I hope there is a fix for this, but if not, is it the mobo or CPU that is screwing up? I don't want my friend to have to RMA both if possible... Oh ya, there are no beeps on startup also... These are all brand new parts from Newegg.com too

does anything happen when the power is turned on...

you have the switch wired right...

it seems like everytime i put a comptuer together it does that..

i would say to try to get it running with minimal components..

you need a power supply, memory, cpu, heatsink (fan must be plugged in and running for most new mobos to work) and a video card..

if all of that is connected right and it still doesn't work then swap out the parts one at a time till it works.. and you will find what it bad.

how do i get psu out of case tho... do i really have to do that? it is a big hassle...

Why are you taking the PSU out?

1. check all jumpers make sure everything is set properly...make sure every card is seated properly, i dont care if u say it is check again...so many times ive had friends not push the vid card in all the way cuz they were afraid to break it
2. reseat the processor and ram...dont know why it works but a rig i built over the summer wasnt getting output, reseated the processor and bam
3. if the above failed run without the video card using the mobos onboard video out...if that works, and the card still doesnt rma the sunafabich

Is the auxillary power connecter plugged into the motherboard? (small 4 plug connector right next to the atx connector) IF your power supply doesnt have one and your board does, it would be something easy to miss ;)

I forgot to plug mine in once and got the same symptoms you have ;o

Edit:
Also, does that 9800 have its own power input on it, and is it connected? I dont have one myself, but most of the ones ive seen do have an aux power connector on them.
Edit: nevermind on the video, just noticed that you tried multiple monitor/video cards.

like everybody said, check your cmos, make sure nothing is grounded out (motherboard standoff in the wrong place)
Unplug all your drives, just use the cpu/mb/fan/video/ram to test it, nothing else connected. make sure the 4 plug power connector is connected also. check for the reset button being stuck. make sure the cpu is seated correctly. If all else fails , tear it down, reassemble it from scratch again.

I am not familiar with your board since I am an Ausus fanboy however if it has onboard video you need to boot directly to cmos and disapble it before your agp card will work.

If you cant get video for post then there is a jumper for disableing your onbaord video somewhere.

This suggestion assumes onboard video and is a generic if it does not apply then sorry dude.

Try disconnecting all of the motherboard headers except for power on/off. I actually had a case with a bad reset switch once which caused the system to be held in a continous reset loop. The system would power on, and the fans would spin, but nothing else would happen.

Other than that, try re-seating the CPU, RAM, and video card, and clear the CMOS.

Good luck.

ik wat is wrong, you have a fried cpu chip. iv tried a fried cpu chip b4, any NOTHING comes up, just a dark screen, oo, and b4 u go out an buy a new cpu chip. PLEASE TRY THIS~ take teh battery out of teh comp when its unplugged, then put it back, maybe ur bios fsb is over, thus your cmp wont going into "start" mode, iv dun this many times, and taking out the battery and butting it back ALWAYS works. hooope this helps~martin

aa, and another thing. look in your mobo manual (if the battery take in and out thing doesnt work) and look something up called CMOS restart, u have to switch some pins on the mobo. maybe you connected the pins wrong from the case to the mobo?
try everything, maybe youll find a solution =P

a cmos restart is mainy just a restart of bios into default setings
