No PC Dead Space 2

Shit, shit and shit again.

This is terrible news, I loved DS on the PC. One of my games of that year.

Such a shame if this is true, the PC really is stagnating. Fewer and fewer companies want to release on the PC anymore

I just hope Mirror's Edge 2 doesn't go the same way

Considering they're turning it into more of an action title and forgoing a lot of the horror elements of the first I'm not interested in it anyway.

I'm not going to lie... I am very disappointed with this decision... I know it's something that could have been seen from a mile away, but still..

DS 1 was such a jump in visual quality between my 360 and my PC that I honestly would never want to play it on anything less again. It felt much more real on the PC version even for a DirectX 9 game.

Considering they're turning it into more of an action title and forgoing a lot of the horror elements of the first I'm not interested in it anyway.

Are you sure about this? I read the entire Game Informer multi-page article and I came away thinking that they stepped up the challenge but it didn't seem like they were skimping on the horror one bit... Even the idea of attempting a center screen aiming style (with no guarantees that it would be a launch standard) really didn't change the atmospheric part much..

Sure the atmosphere is less claustrophobic but as players we have been there and done that.

The important thing here is not the game it self but the scary trend....I love PC gaming and when this happens we all lose.

i agree. even though i play third person shooters on my PS3, this trend in general is a bad thing for me as a PC gamer. Dead Space is such an amazing game, it's a shame they are limiting platforms for it.

I haven't played Dead Space at all but its a real damn bummer to see this sort of shit happen to the PC platform. What if I want to play it on a laptop on the go or at visual settings the consoles can't match?

Really makes me sad. :(

Dead Space 1 wasnt really for PC anyway. One of those games I regret impulse buying, couldnt stand it.

It falls into the category of single-player only games that wasn't good enough to stand on its own without a good multiplayer like say Bioshock or Asscreed or any RPG ever made by Bioware.

Personally I won't miss it.

Exactly. EA said Dead Space didn't sell well on the PC so they're not going to make DS2 for the PC. Can't blame 'em.

It didn't exactly sell well anywhere. 1.5 million copies for what was pimped as a AAA title is pretty bad.

sadface, i played this on pc, although i didnt love the control structure, the atmostphere was very good. althought the acutal character delvepment was kinda lame, and voice acting with some of the characters wasnt great.

level design/lighting and horror stuff was very good

Yes yes, very scary stuff. Much more of a hit then a miss. I was looking forwarding to another one.

it was a better console game than PC game to be honest

While it seems more like a console-type game, I don't have a console and want to play it on my PC! Graphically I'm sure it's better on PC then it is on consoles. I'm on chapter 5 now, playing through for the first time with a 360 controller and having a blast.

i'm not saying you're wrong for liking it or enjoying it, in fact, i'm glad you enjoy it, i'm just saying the game seemed more suited for consoles, mainly control/wise

I played the first one on my friend's PC and loved it. Sad to hear that the sequel won't be on the PC. :( (Sounds familiar to Alan Wake of late...)

DS 1 is a very solid game. I won't be playing DS 2. Yeah, it sucks but there's SO many games to play that it really hardly matters.

When PC gaming dies, I will stop gaming. My pledge for life!:)

I'm disappointed, but at this point I'm caring less and less. It's not going to make me buy a console, so they're losing out at least 1/1.5M :D I play on the PC, and have a Wii for a when I feel like Mario/Zeldaing out. I agree with heatlesssun. I stop playing games when I can't play on the PC. I have other hobbies.

Oh well. All this means is that sequel will be watered down garbage compared to the first anyways. No loss. I'd rather not have my very positive memory of the first game sullied by the likes of that.

Mr. Isaac Clarke does not like this move by EA at all.

That's disappointing news.

I just finished DS on PC like two weeks ago. It wasn't perfect but it was a fun change of pace. Atmosphere was great.

I'm not going to buy a console and there will be plenty of games to play so if they want to be that way, it's their loss. If they decide to eventually release a PC version (hey, it's happened before) I'll think about it if it's cheap enough and not too late.

Seriously disappointed. DS was a very enjoyable game. I was looking forward to the sequel. I have not turned on my 360 in months. The PC platform was my first gaming platform and it still is my preference. I doubt I will buy it for the 360.

I loved the first one. I loved it enough to keep buying sequels as long as they are as good as the first. No PC no sale though. This would have totally pissed me off in the past, but I just have too many other things to think about these days. I'll just give my money to someone else who makes a decent PC or multi-plat game. Love the Isaac Face Palm TM above!

Agreed with some of the previous posters, if a game doesn't make it to PC, I don't buy a console, I just don't play it the game.

They shouldn't have done such a half assed job of porting the first one.

lol, so let me guess, if I want to play it, I have to get it on the xbox right? Man, gaming is really going down the tubes.

how does that make any sense? its not like they made the first game any differently because they were going to port to pc.

Dead Space was one of my favorite games and I will probably pick it for console later. I think after I get through my backlog of pc games and get the last STALKER game I am making the move to consoles anyway.

So what's the excuse? "Didn't sell well on the PC due to too much piracy?"

It was awful on the console the steering, it was so much better playing this with a good mouse.

Yeah I would sure love to play DS2 rendered at a lower resolution than I was playing games 12 years ago.... NOT.

Where did all the "OMG NOES MOUSE ACCELERATION EWWW" people go?

Starting chapter 6 now and the only time I've used my mouse is for the (possible spoiler but not really below)...

asteroid part where you shoot the asteroids manually to save the ship. It was just too hard with a 360 controller. Beyond that I wouldn't want to use a mouse for this game. Just my preference.

the controller just spins around too fast when trying to look around. I tried and tried to play with the controller but the mouse was just so much better for me.
