No options in nvidia control panel...

Hello. I have just purchased 3 GTX 680 graphic cards (Zotac Brand) and installed them into my asus rampage X79. Along side I have an i7 3960X. (Not sure if that matters)

I have three monitors and each one is connected to a seperate card. All the monitors work, as well my device manager recognizes all three GTX 680s.

My issue is that with the 301.10 driver I have absolutely no options in my nvidia control panel other then "Stereoscopic 3D"

I would highly appreciate some help with this. :( - I really need to use the nvidia control panel, yet all options other then that one are missing. Please assist.

I ahve try reformating, fresh windows install, fresh driver install, everything. Perhaps a bug in the drivers?

My monitor is 60hz .. however i need to see options in the nvidia control panel so i can enable sli...(right?)
 
Make sure your SLI bridge is seated securely.

Also, maybe it is a defective bridge?
 
Well its not just the sli options, its almost every option in the nvidia control panel, every option that should be there...is not....

I have a latop as well and it has tons of options that are all missing in this new desktop computer...
 
What about, the Advanced view option? Does that change anything?

Check Device Manager for any HW errors or Event Viewer for any software/hardware issues?


Just playing around in the Control Panel on my laptop. Make sure you are not in 'Custom View' and if you are, you will have to select all the options you want to see or it will remove them from view on the left pane.

odd issue, maybe try installing an older driver version then install the new drivers. not sure if it will work since it may or may not freak out since they don't support the 680's.

just as a last resort you could try disconnecting 2 of the monitors(leave the one connected to the primary card) and reinstall the drivers see if that helps. not sure if either of these idea's will work but its worth a shot.

shouldnt the monitors all be connected to the primary card?
 
That's an old (and sadly somewhat common) Nvidia driver glitch.
Any chance your card came with drivers other than 301.10 on Nvidia's site? That always used to be the fix - installing different driver versions and then re-installing the newer ones on top.
 
I am not sure how the new nvidia cards are connected using three monitors, but I'd start first by connecting all three monitors to the primary or master card.

That should give you a pop up saying SLi capable, and you can go from there. I have a Surround system, but I have two GTX 470s and they are connected using two DVI on the primary and one DVI on the secondary. I think with the 680s you now use only the primary UNLESS you are running three SEPERATE monitors and not Surround.

Make sure you have the SLi bridges connected.

You might consider doing the above, then uninstalling and reinstalling newly downloaded drivers form nvidia.:D

Alright so here is my progress.

It seems if all three monitors are plugged in (Each to a seperate graphic card - Because each 680 has one dvi-i and one dvi-d yet all mine are dvi-i) Anyways if all three monitors are plugged in, the nvidia control panel shows nothing but the 3D options.

However if i unplug all monitors but my main one, and start the computer, all nvidia control panel options are there as well as the SLI options.

So from what im guessing is you cannot use the other cards to plug in your monitors? Thats quite confusing. - you can only plugin one monitor to the main card, and then you have all options?

Do I need to buy some sort of converters to the cables so that they fit into the one card and have all three monitors on one card?
 
Ah there we go ive figured it out! There has to be two monitors plugged into the first card then one to the second card for sli to work on all three :)

It looks like the 680 uses the same configuration I use with my GTX 470s.
Although there are a bunch of other options.
