Hey, I've looked on the F@H forums and didn't get a clear answer. Can we simply run out of work to do?

I keep getting:
[21:54:36] - Error: Attempt #6 to get work failed, and no other work to do.
Waiting before retry.
[21:57:31] + Attempting to get work packet
[21:57:31] - Connecting to assignment server
[21:57:31] - Successful: assigned to (171.64.122.136).
[21:57:31] + News From Folding@Home: Welcome to Folding@Home
[21:57:31] Loaded queue successfully.
[21:57:34] - Error: Attempt #7 to get work failed, and no other work to do.
Waiting before retry.

Problem is, it's been this way for about 3-4 weeks. I'm on a work computer and I have to shut it down at night so I don't know if i'm missing an opportune time to get a new work unit.

No it's just simply not able to connect to the work server and you have no work on cached on your computer.

Which client are you running and on what kind of machine? I get new work here about every 6 hours at least. It's not a server problem as I am able to connect to it on port 8080 just fine. Put the following into your browser and see if you get an OK response: http://171.64.122.136:8080/

I bet there is just no work at the moment for your client and how you have it configured. It, unfortunately, happens from time to time.

I've got winxp client v5.03. I know it's old, but I haven't been able to update it (need admin priveleges).

Computer is HP Compaq dc5700 SFF.

That link came up with an OK on the screen.

So certain client versions will only get a certain amount of work?

Correct. Work is different depending on the client used. Not all clients can process the same work. 5.03 is really old and no longer supported unfortunately. :( Sorry bud.
