No memory dividers?????

I was reading something and it said core 2 duo mothers dont have memory dividers? so this means memory and FSB always have to be 1:1??? is this true? cuz i was thinking of running memory at 400mhz but pushing FSB higher. sorry im intel noob.

Not true. For example: the Gigabyte 965P-DS3 allows an array of memory dividers (I think I can choose 1:1, 1.25:1, 1.5:1 quite readily...maybe a few things higher). Right now, I'm running a modest OC with a FSB of 320mhz but memory at 2x400mhz. I don't know offhand (and am too lazy to reboot to look) to see if I can go lower with the memory than the FSB...
 
wait so your memory is HIGHER than FSB? this is what i wanna do, run 7x500 to get 3.5Ghz CPU, but keep memory around 400mhz.

AFAIK most c2d mobos dont support memory lower then FSB (and it isnt very beneficial for your performance either), so to run 500 mhz FSB you would need your memory at 500 mhz as well

but i assume you have a e6300? do those things do 3.5 easily?
