No Java Applets

Sup guys. I've been trying to use java applets on many various websites and none of them will work. I'm not exactly sure as to why it won't, so i was hoping that someone here could help me out as to what's causing the problem. Thanks ahead of time! i'm using Windows XP BTW.

If it's XP SP1 integrated, that doesn't have the jre installed. You have to get it from www.java.com
