No e-mail notification on topics?

I've noticed I don't get an e-mail when I thread I posted in/started has been replied to, I just typically go to my CP to see if they have been, but I need to actually come to the site to do that... I'm just curious if there's anything else I need to do besides set my preferences to "instant email notification"? :confused: I'll double check, but I'm almost positive I don't have e-mail from [H] flagged as spam in my e-mail acct.
 
I beleive email notification was turned off years ago for performance reasons on the server side.
 
Here is the deal. I have to work with usually about 10 to 20 people a week that let us know that one aspect or another of our email notifications do not work. 99% of the time, it is to aol.com email addresses that have issues.

Since I started writing this, another AOL user asking for help because we did not send their mail.

Funny that the thousands of others that use the service every day have no issue.

Not even close to being correct. It has been on for years.
 
I noticed if I don't return to the site after getting a few notifications, I won't get them. I think that's the way its setup. :confused: After I login I will start getting them again.

Yeh, that must be it. It's like that on the Opera forums also. You receive one notification for a post in a thread. To receive another notification for the thread, you have to make sure you're logged in and you need to view the post (perhaps via the direct URI to the post from the email) you were notified about. Only then will you receive another notification.

I'd prefer notification about every post regardless, but I'm thankful that we at least get notified.
