No DVI signal?

Hey guys, i have a 2005fpw on 2 msi 6600gt's. My setup before this was,

asus a8nsli deluxe, and 1 6600gt. The DVI worked fine for me.

My a8n took a crap, so i picked up a an8 fatality board, and another msi 6600gt for sli.

Everything hooked up, I see my BIOS, windows loading screen, but as soon as it passes that it loses signal, and my screen goes black. Same goes for running a single card.

It does however work in safemode, so i thought it may have been a driver problem, but i've tried several different drivers and none seem to work. It's not a huge deal, but the dvi's worked in the past and i'd like to use it.

Any ideas?
 
It's more than possible that you have your resolution set too high, out of the signal range of the 2005fpw, which explains why it works in safe mode.

Of course it begs the question, how/why the setting was set that high in the first place (since your monitors hasn't changed). Try installing the Dell 2005fpw drivers while in safe mode, or try really lowering your monitor resolution settings as well as making sure that your Hz isn't out of spec.
 
If the rez or refresh was out of range, wouldn't that be true for the analog port also? Cus it works when plugged into that. I just installed the drivers from the dell site. Now i have a 'dell 2005fpw (analog) and a 2005fpw (digital) listed under monitors. But still no digital :(( GRR

I'm not 100% sure, but it might be true for refresh. Analog probably is more than likely to accept a much higher refresh. But who cares about what it 'can' and 'can't' do, I told you to do what I did, because it should remmedy the issue if that is the problem. If you see the BIOS loading screen than it clearly is not a DVi port or hardware issue, and if windows fucks up then that is another indication that it clearly is a software issue.

Additionally it's more than likely that windows is seeing both analog and your digital connections as 'seperate monitors' so your settings on both might be different. Your analog one might be set to correct resolution/refresh and your digital one might not.

I'm not saying you should follow my advice blindly, but wouldn't it make sense to try it and then tell us your results?
