As the title says....my other rig's displlay isn't working.
All the fans cpu are working. The card is 8400gs.when i connect the display cable to nothing starts on the monitor.monitor goes to standby.but the gpu's workin. The gpu fans' spinning.
I've cleaned the ram slots pci slots removed the card and replaced it.But i think i'm the culprit here.before this happening,i removed the .....somewat 6 pin connector that connects the gpu to the display port to clean it.and i think that is the problem.i replaced it the same way again and it refuses to start.--the display card refuses to display anything.
The other things are working just fine..i get the windows logon sound too after some time I switch it on.

Try swapping the display cable (assuming DVI) with another first. Then try the monitor on another system.

What happens if you test that GPU in another system or another GPU in that system?

Try a different video card in the same pci-express slot to see if it works. If it does then that video card is dead. Or the monitor on the other system, or the cable. Limitedaccess mentioned those already though. But one of those 3 is the culprit.
