DigiTimes, citing “inside sources” at the company, claims that NVIDIA will not be at Computex in Taiwan. According to this, NVIDIA will set up a small display room to showcase new products but that is it.

Earlier this year Nvidia chose not to participate at both CES, in the US, and CeBIT, in Germany, two of the three major international IT trade shows. The decision to also not participate at Computex could give the company's competitor AMD a chance to hit back, according to sources at Taiwan-based graphics card makers.

Wow, is things so slow at ATI that Nvidia has to pull out a lawn chair and sit in the spectators row?

Either they have nothing impressive to show us, or they just need a little more time before they stun the world with something world-ending. :p

For competition's sake, let's hope for the latter.

It would be a waste of money for them to do so as people will till buy their products.

If I recall correctly, NVIDIA is NEVER "at" Computex, but always sets up outside the venue. Been this way for years, so this story is sort of a red herring.

I am glad that they aren’t wasting their money on that carp. I have always believed that the “trade shows” are just a huge scam. The only people that really benefit are the owners of the venue and the design companies that put together the booths. If they have a new product that they want to show customers, send it to review sties like [H] and we can see how it really performs. That is much better publicity than the dozen crappy trade shows put together.
The only good thing about trade shows are the booth babes..

Heh, carp.

I've always liked NVIDIA. I only have a Radeon 'cause it was a good deal and money's always tight.

How many actual customers ever get to attend these trade shows anyway? It's easier for a company to spread the word on their products through sites like this one,and a display at a trade show is designed to show off a product under controlled and ideal conditions. We get a much better idea of a product's real worth in the hands on reviews here.I'd rather see Nvidia spend the time and money coming up with decent drivers.

Actually Computex is the ONE trade show I have made sure to attend every year since 1997. I generally get a lot of work done and contacts made at that show, so it is very valuable to me. I would not spend 30 hours of riding back and forth on a plane if it did not.

Computex is a buyers show. That means that many deals for the year will be struck there on the show floor and surrounding area between vendors and suppliers. The last day of the show is the only day it is open to the public. NEVER go on the last day, it is a madhouse.

That "load" has been going on, unchallanged for some months now. One would need the rest at that point, as well a glass of water, and alot of bounty (the quicker picker upper). :D

So are you saying that, that makes Nvidia the 'Peter North' of the discrete video card companies :D
