You guys think that there won't be 7.5 and following this ATI breaks their strategy of releasing new drivers each month ?
Or maybe its just one time delay because of work they put into ATI HD 2900 XT ?

The month isn't over yet. Be patient young skywalker.

well... they've got 30 hours and change to produce a driver to make their monthly quota. Seems like it's been pushed further and further into the month.

Werent some of the people on here bitching because they put out one a month? Used to ATI didnt put them out that often, and there was bitching and moaning about it. Now they do put them out once a month, and there is bitching and moaning about it. \

I love that the put drivers out every month. I never moaned about it. They've been doing that for a few years now... I think. It's great support for hardware that's been kicking butt until this last iteration. I also heard nVidia was moving towards the monthly releases also, but heard that rumor a few months back.

I'm not sure who were they but its hard to believe. We can see that there is many bugs in current drivers, now imagine that there is no fix released for 3 months. No one would love ATI :).

Well, I just got my HD 2900XT today and I'm liking it so far. But knowing how ATI keeps improving every driver release, I am kind of hoping for a new Cat soon, if not today. Rowrrr! :D

Isn't anyone else annoyed with that? In my opinion, driver packages should include drivers and software relevant to directly operating the card (CCC). I at least hope they intend to split the packages as they've done before so that downloading Steam is not mandatory. If it is, however, I'm going to be one unhappy customer. Unless, of course, AMD intends to pay me some percentage of the money they were given by Valve to do this bundle.

Including Steam with the driver packages is akin to an anti-virus app including the Google Toolbar. I'm sorry, but I believe that's bullshit.

Please stop signing your posts. It against the rules and highly annoying. Thanks.

OMGWBBQSAUCE, class action lawsuit time! Seriously folks, the month is not over and if they did miss the "deadline" by a few days, I don't think the ATI zealots are going to form a lynch mob at ATI world HQ and march all over them. (Heck, maybe they would these days... :p ) It's not the end of the world if they miss the month. ;)

From what i am reading and understanding is that since the launch of Vista, WHQL certification takes longer now as Vista is supposed to be secure. Lots of new rules they have to follow, etc...

So I think this may be a trend that driver releases may be late, but not ATI/AMD's fault. The actual date of the driver signing on the 7.5's is May 17th.
