This is a new one on me. I just got my replacement for my fried Epox 8RDA, the 8RDA3. It works and OCs just fine except that when I have my CDROM drive chain connected to IDE2 it refuses to boot to XP. It POSTs up just fine, but then black screens. If I remove that chain it boots right in. Any ideas for a quick fix? Maybe the cable is bad....time to switch them.

is the cd rom drive only device on the channel? if so try another cable.. if that won't work.. try different optical drive (just to make sure this one is fine..)

No, the CD writer and DVD-Rom are both on that chain. Im going to disconnect them and rotate. As well as rotating IDE cables between the chains.

CD-Writer is dead. Powers on wont eject. I took it out of the chain and the other one is working fine. I wonder what disc it's holding hostage. :( Thanks for your input.

Bend a paperclip open and stick it in the hole in the front of the drive and push in slowly. It will push the manual release and free your disk.

Why do you box cats? ;)

In 2000, I was on the front page for putting my cat in my windowed Case and Kyle sent me 3 ratpadz. Its my only claim to fame. :D
