i borged my sisters computer and run fold on mine 100% of the time but yet my name wont update my active cpu's in the last 7 days. i am starting to wonder if i configured somthign wrong or what. in the borged computer my stats page comes up when i click my stats. And i dont know what to do on ym computer since i just started running linux full time.

have both computers returned WUs yet?

it could take up to a full day after a returned WU for stanford to update their stats.

It would help to know what kind of hardware you have, and whether or not you set it to allow larege WU's. Depding on those factors, it could actually take longer than 7 days to complete a WU.

true, didn't think to ask about that.

what speeds are your CPUs?

ya good point i have yet to return WU's. i have a athlon XXX that runs at 755(every bit helps) and my main A64 rig that is 3200+ @2.3/4. my main A64 rig stays on 24 7. the ohter only when my sister uses, or forgets to turn it off.

OT: i have a WU with 125,000 steps, culd this be my first big time WU.

If the athlon 775 is on less than 12-15 hours a day then it wants to be configured to do timeless work units.
Otherwise it wont make the deadlines and you'll end up folding for less, if any, points.

As for your main box it all depends on which protien you've got.
The number of steps dont make any difference in how fast it fold as thats only a count on the number of loops the program needs to do to fully fold the protien.

But a good average for that speed CPU is around 2-3 day per protien if your folding at full speed.

Luck.......... :D

im on linux and have disabled everyhting possible to conserve clock cycles i can do 1250 steps in like 36 min at stock speeds, but as soon as i write and save again im going back up to 2.3
